About SEID

Who Are We?

Established in 2019, SEID is a collaborative effort between legislators, civic professionals, and political rights activists dedicated to environmental justice, equitable public services, and active civic engagement. We address the complex challenges arising from Lebanon's political, social, and economic crisis, further strained by the Beirut Port explosion, COVID-19, and climate change. SEID conducts research, engages in lobbying, and fosters community involvement to achieve its goals.

Vision

We want to transform Lebanon into a place where the creation of knowledge, economic prosperity, social harmony, and environmental stewardship coexist. We envision a nation that prioritizes the well-being and dignity of all individuals within its borders, fostering a clean environment and inclusive societies that respect and protect human rights.

Mission

We work to empower Lebanese citizens to assert their rights, so that every individual can enjoy the right to live in a clean environment and is treated with unwavering dignity, fairness, and respect.

Our Team

At SEID, we are committed to empowering communities and shaping solutions that address today's most pressing environmental and socio-economic challenges.

Action Pillars & Initiatives

We engage with relevant stakeholders to co-create user-centered solutions to Lebanon’s social, economic, environmental, and political problems. This collaborative method ensures that our solutions are effective, sustainable, and tailored to the needs of the communities we serve.

Community Engagement

SEID actively connects with local communities to gather first-hand data and disseminate research findings. By engaging directly with residents, we ensure that communities have access to relevant, scientifically backed information. This approach empowers local stakeholders with the knowledge they need to support and strengthen their grassroots initiatives and advocacy efforts. Our goal is to make complex scientific and technical data more accessible and actionable, helping communities across

Lebanon better understand the challenges they face. With this information, they are better equipped to advocate for sustainable solutions, drive local initiatives, and participate in informed decision-making processes that improve their quality of life. SEID remains committed to bridging the gap between research and community action, fostering a collaborative approach to addressing environmental and social challenges.
